Federal Resources, Technical Assistance and Funding Opportunities
This session will focus on federal school safety resources and technical assistance available at no cost from individual agencies and via clearinghouse websites such asyouth.govand the Department of Education R.E.M.S Center. This session will also address funding opportunities and an overview ofgrants.gov, the e-government centralized system for grant seekers to find and apply for federal funding opportunities. Finally the session will include review the federal grant application process and basic requirements for all federal funding opportunities.
Biography
Elizabeth Simpson is a Social Science Analyst at the COPS Office, the Department of Justice agency that provides funding and resources to state, local and tribal law enforcement. Elizabeth works in the Community Policing Advancement (CPA) Division and focuses on school resource officer (SRO), school safety, and youth issues as a project manager and technical expert. Elizabeth has prior experience in law enforcement and as a Research Specialist for the Arizona State Supreme Court.
