Sgt. Travis Mitchell
About:
Sergeant Mitchell assists in leading the School Safety Division for the Frederick County, Virginia, Sheriff’s Office. He oversees the daily operations of team members, who provide law enforcement support, guidance, and law related education for the school community. He is a 19-year veteran in law enforcement, serving the last 8 years with the School Safety Division. Since joining the School Safety Division, Sergeant Mitchell has helped organize and implement numerous programs within the division, and a vital contributor in developing a school / law enforcement partnership with Frederick County Public Schools and Bright Futures. In addition, Sergeant Mitchell serves on several boards throughout the community, to include his role as Co-Chair with Bright Futures Frederick/Winchester advisor board.
Sergeant Mitchell holds other positions and certifications such as SAR Team Leader, D.A.R.E instructor, Stop the Bleed instructor and Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events instructor.
