WELCOME MICHELLE DENAULT TO THE SAFE AND SOUND SPEAKERS BUREAU

Updated: 2 days ago

We are honored to announce the newest addition to our Safe and Sound Schools Speakers Bureau: Michelle Denault, owner and founder of “Voices Carry, LLC.” Michelle is a survivor of educator sexual abuse and the creator of the training program “Grooming 101 – A Predator’s Playbook.”

In 2015, Michelle experienced a life-altering realization. After decades of believing she had been in a “love relationship” with a trusted teacher, she came to understand that she had instead been preyed on and abused. Since then, she has courageously shared her story, advocated for change, and pursued justice to hold her abuser and enablers accountable.

Michelle’s “Grooming 101” training has been widely implemented in schools and institutional conferences across Illinois. This vital program equips adults with the tools to identify signs of grooming and empowers students to recognize when they or their peers may be targeted.

This February, Michelle will share her story on an international stage as the Opening Keynote Speaker at the 17th Annual Gangs, Guns, and School Violence Prevention Summit in Vancouver, BC. Following her keynote, she will join other survivors and advocates for a panel discussion on Perspectives on Sexual Exploitation & Sexualized Violence.

In Michelle’s own words (via her website):

“It is my honor to announce to you that I have become part of the Safe and Sound team as an exclusive member of their Speakers Bureau. I couldn’t be more grateful for this opportunity to be part of something so amazing and to have the chance to grow my message far beyond what I had even dreamed.I want to thank everyone who thus far has believed in me and supported me. I want to thank those who used to watch me make videos in my basement with a dry-erase board, to those who helped me get out of that basement, to those who gave me that first chance to speak in schools, to those who let me in and to those who have been pushing me forward ever since. I am so incredibly blessed to have met so many phenomenal humans who have the safety of our children at the forefront of their lives. My mission remains the same: to speak in every institution that will have me—to adults and students alike—spreading the message about grooming, abuse, healing, and hope for a better tomorrow.”

Welcome to the Safe and Sound Speakers Bureau, Michelle!
